About Kaki`o
Ahupua`a
Kaki`o Ahupua`a, located between Hāna Bay and Waiʻānapanapa State Park, is a coastal and rural Hāna neighborhood with oceanfront vistas and rainforest gulches. The neighborhood’s character concentrates around the Hāna Highway corridor by Hāna Bay, where roadside fruit stands, small galleries, and ocean-lookout pull-offs set an unhurried rhythm. Low-slung homes and cottages sit among palms and ironwood, with lava-rock edges and broad lanais tuned to trade winds. Days track the shoreline, tidepools, and short drives to black-sand beaches. Cultural touchstones include Hāna Cultural Center, Kaʻaniʻani Church, and the Hāna-Maui Resort’s oceanfront grounds. The landscape reads as old Hawaiʻi—wet, green, and shaped by streams meeting the sea.
