Lot at Wahkiacus, Klickitat, WA 98628

Fifteen acres of Columbia Gorge wilderness, where the Klickitat River carves through canyon and forest meets water. This is land for people who measure a good day by miles hiked, rapids run, or wind caught on a wingtip. The parcel borders the Klickitat Trail and the Klickitat River itself, placing you steps from one of the region's best recreation corridors. Hike or bike the trail's rail-to-trail miles as it follows the river through canyon and timber. Cast a line or launch a kayak nearby, raft the Klickitat's whitewater in spring runoff, or hunt the wooded slopes and river bottoms that surround the property. When the Gorge wind comes up, some of the best wind and kite sports water in the world is a short drive away. Access is from Schilling Road via a private road, leading to a desirable, level building site with views of the river and the surrounding terrain. Deer, elk, eagles, and osprey move through this stretch of the Gorge as a matter of course, and the quiet here is real — no highway noise, no neighbors in sight, just wind, water, and birdsong. The property's NW corner sits roughly 250 feet from the Swale Creek Trailhead parking lot and about 850 feet from the bank of the Klickitat River — recreation access practically at your doorstep, yet the land itself feels remote and untouched. Gentle sloping, wooded terrain gives the site privacy and character, while the building area offers a rare combination: river views with genuine seclusion. Fifteen acres like this, adjoining public trail and river access along the Klickitat, rarely come to market. Whether your vision is a getaway cabin, a full-time retreat, or simply land to hold and explore, this parcel offers the quiet, wild beauty that draws people to the Gorge in the first place. Please don't walk the land without a broker present — ask yours to schedule a showing. They'll have the access and easement details you'll need.
