In competitive real estate markets, speed is critical. Redfin aims to give you an advantage by identifying Hot Homes™ that are likely to sell quickly, so you know which homes to go see in person right away.
A Hot Home is a home for sale that is expected to be among the most competitive homes on the market, according to the proprietary Redfin Hot Homes algorithm.
The Hot Homes algorithm automatically calculates the likelihood by analyzing more than 500 attributes of each home - including price, property type, and neighborhood - as well as buyer preferences in the area.
You always see the most up-to-date competitive homes on the market because the algorithm evaluates each home as soon as it hits the market and reevaluates its competitiveness daily.

How does Redfin calculate the likelihood that a home will sell fast on the market?
Our data scientists built the proprietary Redfin Hot Homes algorithm, which takes into account more than 500 factors that contribute to how quickly a home will sell. These factors include the home's price, property type, neighborhood, and sale history, as well as how quickly similar homes in that neighborhood tend to sell.
How do I know if a home is a Hot Home?
When you search homes for sale on Redfin, look for the HOT icon on the map or the HOT HOME banner on a home's first listing photo.
What should I do if I’m interested in a Hot Home?
We recommend you go see any Hot Home you're interested in right away, as the Hot Homes algorithm predicts it's likely to go under contract quickly. On the home details page, simply click "Go Tour This Hot Home" to the right of the listing photos. Once you submit your tour request, we'll call you to schedule your tour with a local Redfin Agent. If you submit a tour request for a Hot Home that's outside of our service area or below our minimum price, a Redfin partner agent will contact you to schedule your tour.
We recommend you consult a real estate professional prior to making any decision about the purchase or sale of real estate. The Redfin Hot Home designation is provided for informational purposes. You should not make a decision regarding the purchase of real estate based on whether a home is, or is not, designated a Hot Home.
Is a Hot Home guaranteed to sell quickly?
No. A Hot Home is highly likely to sell quickly, but there can be no assurance. Alternatively, a home that is not identified as a Hot Home could sell quickly. The Redfin Hot Homes algorithm may not account for every attribute that makes a home appeal to buyers.
Can a home that's not initially designated a Hot Home become a Hot Home?
A home that is not designated a Hot Home on the day it hits the market may be designated a Hot Home by the algorithm if it gets a significant number of Redfin views, tours, or other indications of buyer interest while on the market.
Can a Hot Home no longer be designated a Hot Home?
It is possible for a Hot Home to no longer be designated a Hot Home if interest in that home or other market conditions decline.
Can I see Hot Homes in every city?
We show Hot Homes in every market where conditions permit, which generally includes almost all markets that Redfin serves.
My home is for sale and it's a great find. Can I make it a Hot Home on Redfin?
No. The Redfin Hot Homes algorithm automatically calculates whether a home is hot, so there's no way to manually designate a home for sale as a Hot Home.
I don't want my home to be a Hot Home. How do I remove the designation from my home on Redfin?
We're sorry! The algorithm meant it as a compliment. Please visit our Help Center for more information about this feature or to contact our Customer Support Team for further assistance.
