Richard was great. He clearly explained what the different loan products were and what the qualifications for borrowers needed to be to get those loans. He was always available to answer questions even at some strange hours of the week. I called him freaked out at some point because I suddenly realized I couldn't withdraw from my retirement fund for the downpayment. He was very calm about it and explained alternatives that may require different downpayments (maybe he is used to buyers getting freaked out). In the end we were able to pull all the money together anyway and SECU put a great loan together for us. Honestly I was shocked they are giving out loans with such favorable terms. But, I wouldn't have been able to buy the house I did without Richard explaining all the options! Thanks Richard!

Richard and his processor, Raquel, are simply the best. There's never any worry about getting over charged because the credit union is non-profit and you get peace of mind. Richard is very detailed in explaining the different options you have.

Richard works for SECU of MD. He is not on commission as it is a non-profit credit union. Service is much better than any bank (though I really do like the service at our Citibank), and you'll always get a straight forward pricing on lending fees. Everytime we've shopped around no one ever beat the SECU rate. Of course each case is different, so this may not be helpful to you, but we got 3.625% zero points, 30 year fixed. It was a short period of time they were offering it so I doubt you can get it now.
