I had no choice on who was used for the closing on my house. It was a battle because my lender kept telling me they weren't getting the information from the title company and the title company kept telling me they weren't getting the information from the lender. It was a nightmare for a week. My closing date was moved by 2 days. First, because Zillow who had bought the home from the previous owner and couldn't fulfill the BINSR requireements that I had requested. That's where you depend on your realtor to help you in making this whole process easier. Then of course the battle between the title company and my lender, it was absolutely ridiculous. And this was right before Labor Day weekend. So if everything wasn't completed on Friday, I would have had to wait until Tuesday to get possession. In the end, both the title company and my lender got it done, but it was at 6:00pm west coast time.
