West Coast Escrow

West Coast Escrow in Irvine, CA nearly caused us to not close on time on our home purchase. They were unprofessional, unorganized, and lacked communication. Our escrow period was 45 days, they did not notify us about any deadlines until 3 days prior to closing, and they only gave us one business day to submit the documents and payment in order to close on time. All of this was completely avoidable if they had better communication. Also, at the open of escrow, they emailed me wiring instructions that they said were “password protected”, but they were not protected. Ironically, the email from them came with cautions regarding wire fraud. I did not feel confident to deal with them at all due to the complete lack of attention to detail for such critical transactions. Additionally, each time I called Susana with a question, there was a general attitude that she was being bothered. Overall, if you don’t want to scramble to close on your house at the 11th hour and be treated unprofessionally, avoid West Coast Escrow in Irvine, CA.

I'm not sure if I would recommend their services. The person assisting in my closing was covering for the original person I had been working with and she seemed to be overwhelmed and out of sorts. I did not have a pleasant client experience with her because she did not seem to care that I would incur additional costs to extend my closing date if she did not submit and request the needed documents to close. In the end I had to extend the closing date at an additional cost. Her attitude was awful...

Easy to work, friendly, and most importantly...on time!

I cannot believe that the american people have rallied behind the idea of this costly and fee-filled concept that are escrow and title companies. Charge me $100 for "Electronic Download fee". Are you kidding? $100 of photocopies? You can buy a new printer and a stack of paper for teh same money. The only reason I give a 4 is because they were nice people - but I hope they make their money and get out before everyone realizes they have been robbing us blind all along. I hope Redfin kills this skimming business and reinvents the model as soon as possible.
