Sean was a great lender. He came recommended by my Redfin agent as someone who could make sure the process went well before closing, and his team did not disappoint. The process starts with getting a pre-approval for a loan. Sean worked with me to figure out how much house I could afford, which is maybe the most important consideration when buying. Getting pre-approved was a snap. As I was touring homes, I would occasionally ask Sean to work up the financials on a property was considering. He typically turned this around on the same day. When it came time to make an offer, Sean helped me lock in a market interest rate and work through which loan package was best for me. After that, Sean's team went to work on the paperwork. It's a lot, but they are clear about exactly what's needed and got back to me quickly if they needed something more. Overall, they finished the process with about a week to spare. Finally, the mortgage rate Sean offered me was competitive with big banks like Wells Fargo and Quicken Loans. I could have gotten less with some online outlets, but I heard enough horror stories of closings being delayed that I figured it wasn't worth it.

Sean was very helpful and patient and answered all my questions. His team was typically quite responsive, and worked quickly to resolve an issue the day before closing which prevented delays. I want to particularly say that George and Anne on Sean's team were very helpful and responsive, and ultimately were the reason i decided to go with Home Savings and Trust instead of other lenders.

Sean helped us successfully close on a house in 30 days. We were having trouble finding a lender that would do a quick close, but Sean said it would be no problem at all! Sean was easy to work with and he answered all of our questions clearly. We had A LOT of questions. We were shopping quotes and honest about the process and were able to have open and transparent dialogue while deciding who to go with. He gave us a great rate and the process was clear. We only had one surprise at the end when we needed to get a reference within 48 hours of closing for proof of employement. We had provided tax statements and recent pay stubs so were unclear of the last step before closing. In all fairness, Sean had another teammate gathering that information so it could have been lost in translation. As I work as the president of a small company, the only person to verify were board members that at times can be hard to reach so that was a stresser that I would have liked to have more heads up on. At the end of the day we turned it around quickly and all went smoothly. We enjoyed working with Sean and would recommend him fully to anyone we know.

Since this was my first home, I may be ignorant of a lot of things that have happened in the process that would otherwise appear to be normal. But Sean and his team were easy to work with. I believe with any underwriting company, requirements are very cumbersome at the beginning and require a lot of patience throughout the process. They completed the approval of our loan well ahead of the financing contingency deadline but would have preferred if the closing disclosure came to us a lot sooner. Again, this is probably something that happens normally, and mostly a personal preference, but it created some anxiety as to how much we needed to bring to closing. The one thing I really do like about Sean and his team is the technology. Hardly any hard copies of paper flowing to and from. Everything is done either through a portal or DocuSign. Makes it super easy and convenient to transfer the information they need for faster processing.
