It was challenging because we were not able to be at the inspection because we were buying from out of state - however, they missed a lot of things such as non-functional outlets, leaks in bathroom and kitchen sink, holes in the garage where mice and snakes were entering the crawl space and garage, as well as identifying a leak from the washing machine that doesn't exist. I don't think identifying these things would have changed the outcome of the sale but it makes us nervous as homeowners because that's just what we have found in the first week, it makes you think "what else did they miss?" I also wish that we had written in our contract before the inspection that $2-3k would go to fixing the things identified in the inspection. Already we have spent $5k fixing things identified & missed in the inspection.
