There was an issue with my closing, more specifically a $400 issue involving my last monthly HOA fee. (Isn't it funny how anytime a mistake is made, the error is always in their favor and never benefits me?) I paid a lot of money for KVS to (accurately) close on my property. Unfortunately, I am "short" $400. During the closing (which was conducted a few days early), I noted that the Settlement Statement was charging me $400 for the monthly HOA fee. I explained that the monthly fee had already been paid. Since the Settlement Statement had the words "CONFIRM" written next to this charge in capital letters and since the closing agent said that I would be refunded this money, I signed the document. BIG MISTAKE. Though KVS has assisted with this matter, I am now dealing with the HOA association - of which I am no longer a member - trying to get my money refunded. The HOA company says that they will try to refund my money in 6-8 weeks. (So, my "closing" won't be "closed" for another two months. Imagine that???) I certainly didn't pay KVS just so I could spend my time sending numerous emails and making a multitude of phone calls. A rep from KVS has sent an email apologizing for this issue, noting that they did not fully or correctly explain this issue to me during closing. Instead of apologies, I'd rather have my $400 ... and the time I have already invested (and will continue to invest) trying to correct this matter. Hey, I have a better idea - why doesn't KVS pay me the $400 now and in 6-8 weeks when I receive my refund from the HOA company, then I'll reimburse KVS? (Isn't it funny how it never works that way?)
