Better Mortgage

Better mortgage was the best of few lenders I started with and they was super quick and responsive. All steps were completely online and it was super easy and convenient.

Best in class pre-approval process....extremely complicated and bad closing process (as they actually dont give you the loan). Processing of loan is through third parties and that is terrible.

Would highly recommend! We had an excellent experience overall. After being highly disappointed by the salesman-like experience we received with larger lenders (pushy agents, hidden numbers, dishonest behaviours), we were very happy that Better lives up to its name. As our first call with our agent Fred moved along, it was very clear that this was an improved experience overall - friendly demeanor, transparency with what is offered, a real look at who we are both financially and personally, and just an overall pleasant experience. Their online portal made uploading and sharing documents a breeze, and it was amazingly clear where we were for each step of the process. Instead of being dragged along kicking and screaming through what could have been a very difficult experience, Better made us feel like we were truly part of the team in a welcome and enjoyable way. We look forward to using them again in the future and highly recommend them to other mortgage shoppers!

For the most part, I enjoyed working with Better.com. They are transparent and their online portal is amazing.

Cancelled our transaction 2 days to close. Lots of unnecessary document finding and resending because of things like “there’s a shadow on the scan”. Completely asinine requests when we were qualified buyers with excellent credit AND had the CASH to purchase. It was 5 weeks of back and forth only to have them cancel.

better.com provides a great workflow for getting your home loan. From the initial quote up to closing, I always knew what was required of me. Whenever I needed to call their offices for questions, I received a quick answer.

Some transparency issues - lender credits changed after locking rate without notice because I opted to skip escrowing my taxes monthly.

There were some issues with Better.com. I think they still have a lot to figure out

Excellent service and fast closing

Better was overall a good experience. We had a bit of a communication breakdown towards the end of the process when we were trying to get our final loan documents to our title company. It took a little longer than we were anticipating but it all got sorted and didn't impact closing.
