What can I say?...without Travis and his team of Jill and Jennifer, my loan would never have happened. Although my funds were secure, because of monumental and multiple bank error, the approval process was complicated and protracted. At the 11th hour, Travis was on conference calls to with them to get needed documentation. Talk about going above and beyond...impressive and wonderful!! Travis was super helpful in our process of buying a house. My wife and i had never gone through anything like it before so of course had a lot of questions and Travis walked us through all of it perfectly. We met him at the seminar for first time buyers at the Kennedy school (free btw and an awesome resource where you learn a ton) and soon after we were going in to get a pre-approval and start looking for a house. Travis and his team were on the ball at every turn and super quick to return an email or text and just help us out in general. People say buying a house and moving is one of the most stressful things you can do, but my wife and i enjoyed the whole process and I firmly believe that Travis and his team had a large part in making that the case.

Travis was a great communicator and was willing to take a significant amount of time out of his day to explain the process to us as first time homebuyers on a weeknight, well after normal work hours. He made himself available to answer any and all questions we had. During the middle of our home search, he made a transition between lending companies, which made for some temporary confusion of how the transition affected us and how we should be communicating with him. Once Travis was settled in at Loanstar, he and his team made for a smooth process of gathering together the necessary documents, getting underwriter approval, and ordering an appraisal. Travis also kept a close eye on the market as we were getting close to an appropriate time to lock our financing rate, and advised us on the best time to lock. Aside from the hiccups with the company transition, (which was mostly beyond Travis' control) we had a mostly positive experience working with Travis.

Travis was awesome! We purchased a multi-family home and everyone else I talked to said we had to provide a higher down-payment - but Travis was able to find programs with the lower down-payment without issue. Fair fees were disclosed up front and there were no surprises at closing. My two previous home purchases had stressful, borderline unpleasant financing experiences - not so with Travis and his team. It's always refreshing to work with someone competent and customer-service oriented and in doing so, Travis has won our loyalty for the future. The only part I found a bit inconvenient was the high level of documentation and re-verification of documentations during the lending process. However I'm certain this is due to all the strict requirements and not Loanstar in particular - just come prepared to do a lot of scanning and emailing!

I was very impressed by his knowledge of the market and presentation of loan options. He and Jennifer were readily available and always responded to my e-mails with a call or e-mail within minutes. He met with me in person and helped me explore my options, providing comprehensive information about possible long-term and short-term outcomes associated with different loans based on down payment, length of the loan, etc. I felt supported and was treated warmly. I thought that Travis did a great job, but I was often confused with who was servicing my loans, which forms that I was filling in were final and binding, and at which step of the buying process we were in. Whenever I spoke to travis, however, he was really good at clearing up where we stood. I think that Travis's lending company could do a better job of clarifying the process and who all of the parties involved in the loan are. Overall, I am very satisfied with Travis and the loan I got.
