The closing balance mismatched between ATG and the lender was discovered a week before closing. However, the balance issue was not resolved between two parties and I was asked by my real estate agent to extend the closing date to cover myself. I refused to do so and I tried to bring ATG and the lender to talk to each other instead of playing phone tag. As it turned out, the lender had set up a closing hotline dedicated to resolve any issue arise quickly but it was never used by ATG. The lender recognized the error and revised the balance and sent back to ATG. However, ATG disagreed again but only because the balance came from another client document that sent to the lender... Anyway, we were able to close on the closing date but I think the issue should have been resolved earlier and there is no need for me to get involved.
