We interviewed a number of firms and decided to give Redfin a chance. Many of the traditional firms warned us that going with a discount brokerage firm was a mistake - lack of support; multiple functional orgs handling different parts of the transaction, etc. We experienced none of those issues. Overall I was disappointed in Cody. At times he was slow to respond or did not respond to important questions and concerns. He would email me and not call me to let me know he emailed me. He needs to understand that putting deadlines in counter offers is important especially when the seller request that he includes them.

Cody was the best thing that could have happened to our home buying experience. We immediately found ourselves on a 3-month clock to move out of an apartment and into a house, via a process we knew very little about. Cody kept us calm and never failed to answer questions honestly and thoroughly. His communication skills were flawless. Also, we never felt he was trying to 'sell' us on a property; he was as quick to point out issues to beware of as he was things that brought value to a property. We lived in PA and were buying in Cincinnati. Cody was super flexible, and not only took us on as many tours as possible when we were in town, but also did a FaceTime tour for us when we found a house we loved, but wouldn't be in town for a couple weeks.

One of the things I most appreciated about Cody was his straight forward nature. I personally don't like it when realtors begin sentences with phrases like "I'll tell you the truth..." or "Honestly,...." I want a realtor to tell the truth and be honest and not have to signal when they're definitely being honest. I never heard these phrases from Cody. He just told it like it was. There were a few glitches in our transaction which could have been avoided had Cody been a bit more aggressive in his approach with the other party.
