We have now used Dan to buy and sell. He helps makes the buying or selling process very smooth, which alone is enough to give high marks. Additionally, though, he truly adds value to the transaction due to his depth of knowledge. On the buy side, he previously helped us understand what things mattered and what things could be fixed or were just personal taste. On the sell side, he helped us prioritize improvements to make before selling which helped lead to a successful sale. I also believe he is a strong negotiator. Finally, once under contract, Dan's knowledge again becomes a huge asset in finalizing all the puts and takes with the other side.

This is the second time I've worked with Dan to purchase a condo. Both times, he was great. He normally does not do deals like the one we just did (investment property, below $200k) but he took me on as a special exception for a repeat client and went out of his way to make sure I found what I wanted in a very hot sellers market.
There were some atypical hiccups - ie. the unit suffered some water damage 5 days before close - that came up in the deal and he was responsive throughout and helped both sides overcome them.
His knowledge of the north and west sides of Chicago is also unmatched and I've even heard his fellow agents say that he's the most knowledgable on all things real estate in those neighborhoods.
I highly recommend Dan to any buyer in Chicago.

Dan was excellent. In a field where the range of quality of agent can be quite broad, Dan is clearly experienced in and committed to the job. He was very thorough in providing us ideas, and thoughts on the types of houses we were narrowing the search to. And when we found one, he gave up his life for about 6 hours to execute our instructions to get the property under contract before bed time, despite a Cubs World Series game that evening. Dan gave refreshingly blunt opinions about toured units, was always available to help during the offer process, and even acted as an intermediary when a disgruntled closing agent almost refused to close because of a id number mix-up.
Only quibble was a confusion about rate locks expiring, but hey.. I still ended up closing, and he certainly helped cool tempers a bit during the closing process.

My husband and I weren't in the market to buy. We were looking at condos to get an idea of the size and space we could afford within the neighborhoods we wanted to live in. Out of nowhere we fell in love with a condo and wanted to put an offer down immediately. Daniel spent the entire evening talking with us and working up a purchase contract so we could place an offer in on the condo.
Daniel was already reliable and trustworthy throughout the entire process. The recommendations provided to us for the home inspection, attorney, etc. were all reliable and extremely professional.

Dan made himself available from day one and got to know our likes, dislikes, and preferences right away. Our home buying process was anything but traditional- my schedule limited home viewings to weekday evenings, my wife had to FaceTime in for all the home viewings due to our then long distance relationship, and we were hoping to find and close on a condo in a matter of 3-4 months. Despite these hurdles, Dan never flinched and made the process seamless. We were instantly put at ease when we met Daniel and saw his interaction with the realtors on the sell side. He asked substantive questions to the realtor representing the sellers about the building, appliances, and also offered advice on potential issues that may come with purchasing the properties that we looked that. Questions that we didn't think to ask but were glad that he did.

Dan was very helpful in our search. Redfin was perfect for us: we knew the neighborhoods we were interested in, and we spent a lot of time scanning the app and the website on our own. Dan and his team were efficient at setting up appointments to check out places and Dan was very helpful as we worked to get a good sense condo associations, the state of building roofs and exteriors, the age of appliances, and a lot of other aspects of a home that a new buyer wouldn't be familiar with. Dan was always available by phone or email for discussions, and genuinely wanted us to be comfortable with the results we received: at sale price negotiations and in further negotiation after inspection.
