I feel like the redfin experience was too corporate and not personal enough. I only met derick at walkthrough. and (it is likely the market) but he negotiated nothing for me. I paid listing. he did nothing other than collect commission and ensure removal of the listing brokers keybox.

We narrowed our search to two homes before contacting Redfin, so we were not asking for alot. More than once, when we asked Derick to give/get us access to the new house to get dimensions or make a final decision he was either unavailable or only had 15 minutes to let us in. For the thousands of dollars paid to Redfin to act as a buyers agent it was very frustrating. Fortunately the sellers agent (ERA not Redfin) was available to let us into the house.

Great job with helping us find our home! Derick has been working with us for 1-1.5 years now. He saw a home with other clients that he thought we would like and told us about it when the home was within 2-3 days of being on the market. We did agree that this home was perfect for us and it would not have been sent to us in our saved searches on Redfin because it was 1 year older than our search criteria, i.e. 1999 instead of 2000! He's also very quick with text message and email replies and fast with moving on offers even in the evenings. Electronic submissions through Docusign makes life so much easier than the traditional method of signing papers my setting up appointments. I wouldn't say this house purchase wasn't the easiest due to changes in contracts because of delays with the seller but Derick was constantly on their case trying to get status updates and answers to my questions. He was able to meet with me and attend the closing which was after hours on a weekday. I know he has several kids and didn't mention them once although I knew he must have wanted to get home but he was there and I very much appreciated it.

He stayed till the end with us on the closing day. He never pushed on any property during the home buying process. I wish he was little bit helpful in negotiating the price with Seller agent. When it comes to negotiation, I expected him to negotiate the price rather than passing the information back and forth between Seller Agent and buyer.
