The sales pitch and lower commission rates compared to other traditional brokerages were attractive, including Redfin concierge services. However, after getting concierge services proposal, it became apparent that Redfin seems to want to make up the difference in the lower commission rates through concierge work and related management fees. We got a $2-3K saving from the 1% lower sales commission and a $19K proposal for additional "cosmetic" work that need to be done to the home, including $2K concierge management fees. What Robin indicated about concierge service fees (10% of proposed work) was different from the actual proposal, which came in at 12%. Robin was very nice and answered calls when we needed something. I think there was a little lack of communication and initiative/aggressiveness and perhaps personal touch. But, those things may just be the nature of doing things with Redfin. Not sure.

Robin was incredible! I am an out of town owner, and the sale was not smooth on the buyer's end. Delay after delay, and Robin communicated everything to me, while REALLY pushing the buyer's team to meet their deadlines.
Additionally, as we were discussing sale price, Robin gave me her professional opinion, then backed it up with comp data. We had a long discussion about the sale price, and our entire sale strategy. I really felt like we were a team from the beginning, an not like just another sale.

Everything was great except that last few days up to and after closing. We were delayed with military orders, which delayed our movers; something we notified Robin about early. Our buyers were VERY inflexible about moving closing, or giving us an extra 48 hours to move our stuff out. Despite a minor miracle scheduling our movers (in under a week), our buyers were still very inflexible. We felt we did not get ANY concessions from them and felt bullied into conceding on everything the buyers wanted.

Overall, the experience with the Redfin team was good. However, during negotiations with the buyers, I don't feel Robin was after my best interest as her client. She was argumentative, didn't respond to emails on a timely fashion and it feels that there was some miscommunication on what/when I requested her to contact the buyer's agent. Also, it seemed that during negotiations, instead of picking up the phone and call the agent or myself, she kept using emails which is the most ineffective way to communicate specially with a closing. I felt the buyer's lender and people were actually more helpful toward me at the end.
