Where to begin!! Everything about our experience working with Stuart was outstanding. As first time buyers, we needed a lot of hand holding. Stuart was nothing short of exceptional throughout the entire process, a true expert in his field. He was patient, honest, explained things multiple times if I needed it. He made sure that we were protected and our best interests were looked after; up until the very end, he never stopped advocating for us. From placing our offer (in a multiple offer situation, he knew how we could make an impression) to the inspection (making sure the sellers repaired big ticket items) to getting the keys, he was on top of it. Stuart is hands down the best real estate agent I've worked with. By a stroke of luck, we found Stuart by reading the Redfin reviews of their various agents in SF. First and foremost, I really enjoyed working with these clients and customer satisfaction is always my number one priority. This was a preemptive offer, which is an offer that is submitted prior to the scheduled offer date in an effort to try and avoid a multiple offer situation. To get the preemptive offer accepted in these extremely competitive market conditions prior to the first scheduled open house, we had to make it very attractive. In this case, that meant waiving many contingencies and taking the property in as-is condition, hence giving up much of our negotiating power. I am confident that this strategy resulted in the best value for you as a buyer but I am truly sorry if the reasoning behind my advice was not 100% clear to you at the time of the offer. It is my responsibility as the buyer's agent to keep each deal on track and make sure we meet all deadlines. This is very important, as defaulting on any contract timelines could put my buyers' deposits in jeopardy. As a result, all Redfin buyers are regularly reminded about upcoming deadlines and "to do's" throughout the process by their agents and through Redfin's Customer Deal Room. I am sorry that these reminders ended up feeling pushy. They are meant to keep you protected contractually and always in your best interest. Overall Stuart was great. He is very personable and quick to respond, and always appeared to have my best interest in mind, which had not been my experience with other non-Redfin agents. We had a particualrly challenging transaction that involved a difficult sellers agent and conservator that was managing the estate. I wasn't always confident that Stuart had experience with some of the more difficult negotiations nor knowledge of all my legal protections under the contract. It also didnt seem like he sought advice of more senior agents or legal experts. We really enjoyed working with Stuart - he was very enthusiastic, attentive, and helpful. He was able to get answers to some difficult questions for us, and always gave us great recommendations for other services we needed (such as a home inspector or title company). In our particular situation we had a slightly bumpy experience with tenants rights issues in DC, and would have liked more information upfront about how those issues could affect our ratified offer. However, Stuart was great in helping us navigate that process and kept us informed as the situation developed. We would highly recommend him.

Stuart was great. Very kind, responds to emails rather quickly and sat through a rough 2.5 hour closing. I think that he is a good agent for someone who really is independent in the home buying process, possibily more for second or third- time home buyers. Overall, I had a positive experience with Stuart and my homebuying process went smoothly but I would have appreciated to have a little more guidance and information about the market, in particular Stuart's experience working with other buyers. As a first time home buyer, I had some anxiety using Redfin especially early on in the process. It's important to note that different from using a more traditional agency where the agent is looking for you for homes in your range, here you are really looking for yourself (and to some degree - i.e. a particular price range - your choices may be limited in what you are able to cull from the web, etc.)...of course you make up for this to a degree with the Redfin credit, but it has it's pro and cons and may be something to consider.
